TREE WEEK 2021: OCTOBER 9-16th
URBAN FOREST INITIATIVE
Please join us for our fourth annual Tree Week as we celebrate the trees and greenspaces around us with our friends, neighbors and communities. Tree Week 2021 events include tree plantings, tree walks, tours and hikes, educational programs for youth and adults, art, yoga, and much more in communities throughout Kentucky. Please follow public health guidelines in effect in your community.

Soil Group Discussion

Seedleaf Community Farm, 150 Northland Drive (Behind Biscayne Apartment)
The Political Ecology Working Group (PEWG) of the University of Kentucky is participating in a workday at the Seedleaf farm at 150 N. Broadway, followed by a critical discussion about soil, as they relate to gardens and urban ecology. No prior reading is required, but we will look through a soil study conducted several years ago of Seedleaf's sites. Just come with your thoughts and ideas about the soils of Lexington! Refreshments will be provided.

Hosted by Rona Roberts, this online event will include performances by Devine Carama, poetry from Eric Sutherland and music from across the Atlantic, by Martyn Joseph!
There will be a raffle throughout the event. Prizes include Gift Certificates from Elmwood Stock Farm, a Flower CSA, Nourished Folks and Rootbound Farm. The final raffle with a brilliant and beautiful quilt hand-crafted for the Seedleaf Spring Soiree!
Join us May 8 for the Seedleaf Pepper and Tomato Plant Sale. We will have a variety of tomato and pepper plants available as well as summer flowers! All plants are $1.50. The sale will be held at the newly opened
Julietta Market in the Greyline Station Located at 101 W. Loudon Avenue from 10am-2pm.
