Service Education and Entrepreneurship in Downtown Spaces (S.E.E.D.S.!)
About S.E.E.D.S.
Service Education and Entrepreneurship in Downtown Spaces also known as S.E.E.D.S. is our youth educational program for middle school students. Participants work in Seedleaf garden spaces with the objective of seeing a crop from seed to table. Participants also take several field trips and receive a stipend payment. From sowing the seeds, tending to the plants, harvesting, cleaning, cooking and tasting the food they have produced- participants get introduced to various methods for growing and eating.
This year, Seedleaf has partnered with FoodChain to provide an aquaponics component to the program. Participants will spend one week in June with Seedleaf and one week in July with FoodChain.
Applications can be returned to Seedleaf’s office at 714 North Limestone Lexington KY 40508 or FoodChain’s office at 501 W. Sixth Street 40508. Applications can also be scanned and emailed to Christine@seedleaf.org
