ABOUT US

Seedleaf is a community gardening organization that provides horticultural training and supports the practice of gardening and small scale farming in the urban spaces of Lexington, Kentucky.

OUR MISSION

Nourishing Communities through growing and sharing food.

OUR VALUES

Seedleaf values the ongoing connection of people to land, the incubation of healthy community interdependence and the cultivation of growers. We believe that this leads to the development of a robust local food economy and a just and equitable system of stewardship over urban land.

GET INVOLVED

Volunteering to plant urban gardens offers numerous benefits for individuals and communities alike. It fosters a sense of community engagement and collaboration, bringing people together to work towards a common goal. Urban gardens enhance the environment, improve air quality, and promote biodiversity by transforming places into green areas. Additionally, these gardens provide fresh produce, contributing to food security in urban areas and encouraging healthier eating habits. Gardening itself can also positively affect mental health, reducing stress and promoting a sense of accomplishment and connection to nature. Volunteers cultivate plants and nurture stronger, more resilient communities through these collective efforts.

Happy Birthday Seedleaf!

We’re celebrating Seedleaf’s birthday this month, and you can be part of the fun! Head over to Cup of Commonwealth and treat yourself to a delicious Matcha, and you’ll be supporting a great cause at the same time.

Packed with antioxidants, vitamins, and a gentle caffeine boost, matcha is a powerful alternative to traditional coffee, offering lasting energy without the jitters. And until November 30th, 10% of the proceeds from every Matcha sold will be donated to Seedleaf, helping us continue our mission to plant urban gardens and combat food insecurity right here in Lexington.

Raise your Matcha to local gardens and a healthier community—every cup makes a difference! it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
