It is with great fanfare that we’re rolling out the first of many parties in the garden this summer! This Saturday, June 6th, from 9am – 12pm we’ll host the first annual Pea Pickin’ Party. It will take place at the London Ferrell Community Garden at 250 E. Third Street, which is currently thriving with fresh crops of spinach, greens of all kinds, lettuces, and of course PEAS!!! Come out this Saturday to learn how to harvest these samples of nature’s bounty, along with helping out some with the maintenance of the plot. While there, you can also check on the status of the ambitious urban orchard plots along with the impressive spectacle of the individual plots near the back. For a special treat, we’re thrilled to welcome culinary students from Sullivan University who are going to be setting up shop to prepare and cook some tasty morsels with our day’s harvest on site!
